Weekly Standout: Grace Conroy in Class of '25

In the vibrant community of Holy Cross College, we meet Grace Conroy '26, a Chemistry major with a passion for learning and exploration. Originating from Minneapolis, MN, Grace has found a new home in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Grace's favourite colour is a serene blue, mirroring the tranquil waters of her hometown's lakes. When it comes to her favourite class, she couldn't choose just one, but Organic Chemistry with Professor Sculimbrene, Chinese with Hao Laoshi, and Liberation Theology with Professor Gonzalez all hold a special place in her heart.

The bustling campus of Holy Cross College is a place where Grace thrives. Her favourite spot? The serene Hogan 1 or the historic Campion, both offering a perfect backdrop for her studies. Running into fellow students, finding the perfect playlist, and savouring a hot cup of coffee from Dag's are some small things that make her day better.

When it comes to dining, Grace can't resist the allure of Kimball's chicken teriyaki dumplings. But when it comes to off-campus dining, she finds it impossible to choose between El Patrón and Basil n' Spice.

Grace's love for music extends beyond the classroom, with a guilty pleasure for musicals. When she needs a pick-me-up, she turns to "Wild Heart" by Bleachers. As for movies, the magical world of Harry Potter holds a special place in her heart.

Books are another passion for Grace. Whether it's "Rough Sleepers" by Tracy Kidder or "Just Mercy" by Bryan Stevenson, she finds solace and inspiration in the pages. Currently, she's hooked on the suspenseful "Only Murders in the Building."

Grace is an avid fan of the Minnesota Timberwolves, cheering them on from afar. But her post-graduation plans are far from ordinary. After spending a year doing service and clinical work, she plans to apply to medical school, aiming to make a difference in the world of healthcare.

Despite the challenges of college life, Grace has managed to almost complete her degree without ever drinking a Celsius. This, she claims, is one of her bragging rights.

The campus hills might pose a challenge, but Grace's spirit is undeterred. If she could change one thing about Holy Cross, it would be to make the campus more accessible.

From spotting senators on campus to enjoying late-night chats with her roommate, Lauren, Grace cherishes every moment at Holy Cross. Her favourite memory? The random running into of folks around campus, especially at the beginning of the semester - a testament to the warm, welcoming community she has found at Holy Cross College.

As she looks forward to going home, Grace is excited to see her family and two big dogs, Sherman and Buddy. But for now, she's focused on her studies, her passions, and her dreams of making a difference in the world.
