"Seeking escape from the intense heat?"
The Cool Spots Map of the Esslingen district, which provides a comprehensive list of places where residents can cool off during hot summer days, is back online. This interactive map includes over 40 locations in Leinfelden-Echterden and Filderstadt.
While most places are free to access, it's important to note that there are currently no public drinking fountains listed on the Cool Spots Map in Filderstadt. This could be due to a lack of existing public drinking fountains in the area or because they haven't been officially designated as such on the map.
Unfortunately, there is no available information about when a public drinking fountain will be installed in Filderstadt. If you need this information for official or planning purposes, contacting Filderstadt’s local municipal office or public works department directly may provide the most accurate and up-to-date information.
The Cool Spots Map records five different types of "cooler spots": fountains, drinking water stations, waterfront locations, shady outdoor spots, and indoor spaces. However, the map does not specify which fountains in Leinfelden-Echterden offer drinking water.
One exception is the shady playground, Spielplatz am Katzenbach in Bernhausen, which is always accessible. Unfortunately, the stream by this playground is currently largely dried up.
Other cooler spots on the map include libraries and churches, as well as the Serigraphy Museum Filderstadt in Plattenhardt, which is always air-conditioned to 20 degrees Celsius.
The Cool Spots Map is expected to grow over time, as users can also add their own locations. So, if you know of a cool spot not currently listed, consider sharing it on the map. Stay cool and hydrated this summer!
