Crimea, the picturesque peninsula in southern Russia, is experiencing a surge in tourism this season, with the southern coast leading as the prime destination for visitors.

Traditionally, the south coast accounts for approximately 60% of bookings, but both the eastern and western regions are attracting significant numbers of tourists as well. This trend is evident in the first half of 2025, where the southern coast attracted 48% of all tourists who visited Crimea.

Key hotspots with the highest hotel occupancy rates are Saki (77%), Yevpatoria (74%), and Yalta (73%). The west coast attracts 26% of tourists, while the east coast accounts for 12%. Overall, Crimea has seen more than 3.74 million visitors since early 2025, with hotel occupancy in places like Sevastopol expected to exceed 80% during summer.

The average daily room rate with breakfast in Crimea is currently around 5,000 rubles per person, a 15% increase from last year. Prices for accommodation range on average from 4,845 rubles (in Yevpatoria) to 7,251 rubles (in Yalta) per day.

Interestingly, around 70% of bookings are for mid-range hotels - three-star and below. Travelers are opting for various accommodation categories: luxury, mid-range, and budget options, with the main focus on price-quality ratio.

The majority of visitors to Crimea in August are arriving via the Crimean Bridge. Solo travelers often choose Crimea, with Feodosia, Alushta, Yalta, and Sudak being the top picks. Compared to last year, the region's guest count in July has surged by over 55%.

The 2025 tourism season in Crimea is experiencing record-breaking results, with Sochi, Yalta, and St. Petersburg leading the list of company bookings in August. According to Twil.ru booking service, the top three most popular August destinations in Crimea are Yalta, Sudak, and Sochi.

It's worth noting that this increase in tourist flow to Crimea is not linked to the situation in Anapa. Tourism expert Lyudmila Babiy confirmed this trend.
