On a historic morning on September 17, 2022, Krasnodar Airport welcomed the first international connecting flight from Uzbekistan Airways, marking the resumption of flights after a hiatus of over three and a half years.

The Azimuth flight, which landed on September 17, carried a total of 86 passengers. Among them was Irina Zadesenets, who had the honour of being the first passenger to disembark after the airport's resumption of flights. In recognition of this momentous occasion, she received commemorative gifts.

The Governor of Kuban, Veniamin Kondratyev, his deputy, Yevgeny Pergun, and the head of Krasnodar, Yevgeny Naumov, were present to celebrate the milestone.

Later in the day, Azimuth also operated an international flight from Moscow, using a Sukhoi Superjet. The Airbus arriving on September 17 was fully occupied, indicating a strong demand for travel.

On the same day, the airport served around 484 passengers, a promising start towards its ambitious goal of handling and sending off over half a million passengers by the end of 2025.

Interestingly, the first 2025 domestic flight from Moscow (Sheremetyevo) was operated by Aeroflot, not Azimuth. This suggests a diverse mix of airlines operating at the revitalised airport.

It's worth noting that no advertisements were present in the current paragraph, maintaining a clean and focused atmosphere for the passengers. The airport in Krasnodar had not received or sent out any flights for 1301 days prior to September 17, 2021, making the resumption of flights a significant milestone for the region.

As Krasnodar Airport continues to grow and evolve, it promises to be a vital air hub in the years to come.
