3. Adirondack Sky Center and Observatory, New York
If you're after the darkest skies in the region, fondly called the "black hole of darkness" by many, look no further than the Adirondacks in Upstate New York. In Tupper Lake, just west of Lake Placid, you'll find the Adirondack Sky Center and Observatory.
