Music School Collaborates with 'Last Night a DJ Saved My Life' for a Noble Endeavor
In a unique initiative, the charity Last Night A DJ Saved My Life (LNADJ) has partnered with an unspecified school to donate 30 iMacs to Sierra Leone. This collaboration harnesses the power of music to support life-changing projects, as part of LNADJ's mission to link the global electronic music community with charitable causes.
The school's participation in this initiative extends beyond the donation of technology. They are also contributing music-making tools, production and DJ gear, and offering free access to a variety of tutorials. Their free resources, exclusive to registered users, include samples, plugins, and online course samples for music production. Users can access these resources by registering with the school and visiting the Free Stuff page on their website.
Jonny Lee, founder of LNADJ, expressed his gratitude for the school's support, stating that the impact of the donations confirms the need for their Get Equipped programme. He also emphasised that this collaboration is a testament to the power of music as a force for good.
One of the school's alumni, Mash P, has already taken 30 iMacs to Sierra Leone to start a community creative hub. This hub will provide opportunities for students to learn music production, as well as skills in photo shop and video editing.
Last Night A DJ Saved My Life is a well-known organisation, with a thoroughly revised history book about the evolution of DJs and their cultural impact. This cultural foundation suggests the potential for educational or community partnerships centred on music’s positive influence. Previous partnerships have involved DJ education organisations and community-oriented DJ projects that engage youth and promote social good.
The school, a leading music education institution, is proud to be part of LNADJ's mission. By working together, they aim to leverage the cultural and social power of DJ music to engage, educate, and empower young people or communities, using music as a positive, unifying force.
