Vaccinated travelers can now enter Morocco without a departure test. The new e-Visa system promises swift processing and will initially serve travelers from Israel and Thailand.

Morocco Drops Departure Test for Vaccinated Travelers, Launches e-Visa

Morocco has lifted the departure test requirement for vaccinated travelers, effective May 2023. Unvaccinated visitors must still present a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure. The country also announced the launch of an e-Visa system on July 10, initially open to travelers from Israel and Thailand.

The new e-Visa system aims to streamline the visa application process. It will be available to citizens of 49 countries, although the full list has not yet been officially published. The e-Visa will be valid for up to 30 days, extendable on-site to six months with multiple entries. The fee for the e-Visa will be announced following its publication in the Official Bulletin.

Morocco's Minister of Tourism has welcomed the e-Visa's introduction, anticipating it will boost the country's global tourism competitiveness. The electronic visa promises swift processing, with documents ready within 24 to 72 hours.
