Local Women's Association Plans Visit to Miniature Wonderland

Forty-two ladies from the local women's association recently gathered at Gut Apeldoorn's winter garden for a delightful afternoon. They enjoyed a selection of cakes and watched a film about the origins of the Miniature Wonderland in Hamburg. The association, based in Tellingstedt, has plans to visit the attraction themselves later this year.

The Miniature Wonderland, now a major tourist draw, began as a labour of love for twin brothers Frederik and Gerrit Braun. Alongside a third partner, they opened the first sections of the model railway system in 2001, attracting visitors with their intricate and detailed miniature world. Today, the attraction boasts 12 finished sections, with more under construction or in planning.

The brothers' dedication to their project has been recognised. In 2010, they were awarded the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for their social commitment. Since its opening, the Miniature Wonderland has welcomed over 25 million visitors, a testament to its enduring appeal.

The Tellingstedt women's association and their partners are eager to experience the Miniature Wonderland firsthand on June 28. With its 12 finished sections and more on the way, the attraction promises a fascinating day out for the group.
