Kronotsky Reserve Graduates 154 Nature Guides, Three Already Proven in 2024
The Kronotsky Reserve Nature Protection School has successfully graduated 154 students over seven shifts. The program aims to produce skilled guides who can inspire tourists to appreciate nature. Notably, three students from the sixth cohort have already proven their mettle as guides in the reserve's protected areas.
The Biosphere Reserve Office Schaalsee-Elbe played a significant role in encouraging three students from the sixth cohort to apply for leading excursions in 2024. This initiative was part of engaging students from the international master's program 'Biosphere Reserves' in the Schaalsee-Elbe biosphere reserve. The students' excellent performance has set a high standard for future graduates.
The School's online lessons often take place in live communication mode, leading to specific results and ideas. It also creates a reserve of personnel for tour agencies, connecting graduates with opportunities to conduct tours during the tourist season. Applications for the eighth shift are currently being accepted for February-March.
The Kronotsky Reserve Nature Protection School's main task is to produce qualified guides who can effectively convey information to tourists and inspire love for nature. An improvised graduation ceremony was held for 20 new guides in Kronotsky Reserve and South Kamchatka Federal Wildlife Refuge. Graduates include residents of Kamchatka and other regions interested in working during the tourist season on the reserve's territories.
