The "Bottroper Kids on Stage" holiday camp, a vibrant and engaging event for children, has commenced in Bottrop, North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). This camp is part of a broader cultural enrichment programme for children, offering a variety of workshops in theater, arts, crafts, and music during school holidays.

The festival grounds on Donnerberg have been transformed into a stage for creative experiences and workshops, providing an ideal setting for children to explore their artistic talents. The camp caters to children who enjoy being in the spotlight and want to experience the stage, with a focus on creativity and hands-on learning.

The camp offers a diverse range of activities, including theater workshops, arts and crafts, music and radio sessions, dance workshops, and a poetry slam. Children can participate in theater games, learn performance skills, and likely rehearse a show for the finale. Activities also include creating art from clay, building objects from wood, painting, photography, and even designing skateboards inspired by street art.

Each day focuses on different creative disciplines, rotating between theater, visual arts, music, and dance. The camp typically spans several days, with dance workshops running for eight days to allow for choreography learning. On the last day, participants present what they have created—this could be a theater play, musical performance, or dance presentation—to family, friends, and fellow campers.

Professional guidance is provided by experienced instructors, such as Martin Schimpke for woodworking or artists like Sarah Schiffer for art techniques. The culmination of the camp is a live performance where children showcase their theater pieces, musical numbers, or dance routines.

For groups of 10 children or more, the admission price is €3 per child. The event site closes at 5 pm, and adult admission costs €2. Admission is free after 4 pm. The popular Spiel- und Kreativdorf is also part of the holiday experience, offering various activities for children of all ages.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information, consult the local Bottrop cultural department or the NRW Kulturrucksack portal directly. The big final show will take place on Saturday at 11 am in the Josef-Albers-Gymnasium's auditorium, moderated by Piet Metzen from BoTTcast. The workshops are being held outdoors.
