In the heart of Eller, the local favourite, the Jrön Wisse Jonges, hosted the annual Kneipenkarneval on Saturday, 4th January. The event was graced by the presence of the prince and princess pair, Andreas and Evelyn, adding an air of royal elegance to the festivities.

The lively celebration kicked off with the Rhythmik - Fanfaren Düsseldorf Eller leading the musical opening, setting the tone for an evening filled with music and merriment. The local Franz Ratte on Gumbertstraße was bustling with attendees, including the Hötter Jonges, the Schützen, friendly societies, and numerous Tollitäten.

The Jrön-Wisse had reserved a corner for performances, where various dance groups showcased their talents. Groups from Jülich, the dance sport guard Düsseldorf of the Hötter Jonges, the Dreigestirn of the Närrischen Schmetterlinge, the dance guard of the Blau-Weißen from Büderich, and the dance group of the Große Erkrather KG, among others, took to the small stage to entertain the crowd.

The highlight of the evening came when Lothar Adams, the outgoing chief of the St. Seb. Schützenverein Eller, was awarded the Pritsche by the Jrön Wisse for his long-standing services to the preservation and promotion of local traditions. Dagmar van Dahlen, last year's Pritschenträger, delivered the laudation for Lothar, honouring his contributions to the community.

Prince Andreas I. expressed his enjoyment of the atmosphere by saying "Hoppa," a word that resonated with the crowd, reflecting the joyous spirit of the Kneipenkarneval. In a spontaneous moment, the prince even joined the celebration by jumping onto a bench to reach the carnival enthusiasts, further elevating the festive mood.

A delegation from the CC, led by President Lothar Hörning, Vice Stefan Kleinehr, and Business Manager Uwe Willer, visited the "jecken Auftakt," adding a touch of official grandeur to the event. The Music Express continued to provide lively entertainment between program points, ensuring the celebration remained musically enchanting throughout.

In Eller, the Kneipenkarneval is more than just a celebration; it's a testament to the community's spirit, tradition, and love for festivities. As the night came to a close, the crowd dispersed, carrying with them memories of a wonderful evening filled with laughter, music, and camaraderie.
