"Forty-five Ordinary Individuals Relocate to Deichstadt"

Popular Traveling Exhibition "Everyday People" Debuts in Neuwied from March 27

Life-sized concrete sculptures by the artist duo Laura and Christel Lechner are making their way to Neuwied, as the traveling exhibition "Everyday People" arrives in the city from March 27 to June 30. The exhibition, which has gained popularity in other cities, will be spread across 15 locations in Neuwied's city center.

Visitors can embark on a discovery-filled stroll, admiring the 45 life-sized figures displayed at various spots, such as the Deichuferpromenade and the pedestrian zone. The human-like sculptures, sympathetic and delightfully normal, depict familiar scenes, capturing fleeting moments of life.

In Neuwied, the sculptures will take up temporary residence alongside the permanent residents, who have already endeared themselves to the city's residents. This exhibition, titled "The People. The Life. The Art.," provides fresh perspectives on everyday situations.

Created in a picturesque atelier on the Lechnerhof, each sculpture is a testament to the artists' continual development of their own artistic style. Over the years, the duo's works, characterized by coarseness and finesse, lightness and heaviness, have developed their own remarkable liveliness, achieved through well-considered gestures and expressions of the motifs, as well as carefully selected weather-resistant colors.

"Everyday People" is the latest addition to a series of creative projects aimed at revitalizing Neuwied's city center. Past initiatives include the World Street Painting Festival, sand sculptures on the Rhine, and augmented reality experiences such as "Dino City" and "Oh, Christmas Tree." The exhibition is funded through the federal urban development program "Future-proof Cities and Centers."

An extensive supporting program invites the public to engage more closely with the artworks. One such opportunity is a guided tour, the first of which takes place on April 5 from 1:30 to 3:00 PM. Furthermore, information about the exhibition, its locations, and the supporting program can be found online at www.neuwied.de/alltagsmenschen.

For those seeking additional information, local event calendars, cultural institutions, and official websites related to the exhibition may provide further insight. Social media platforms and local news outlets could also offer updates on upcoming events in the area. To gain more specific details, contacting local cultural centers or event organizers directly is advised.

The popularity of the traveling exhibition "Everyday People" extends beyond previous cities, as it takes up residency in Neuwied's city center from March 27 to June 30. Visitors can immerse themselves in a lifestyle exploration, admiring the life-sized sculptures that vividly depict ordinary situations, such as the human-like figures along the Deichuferpromenade.
