Flights Departing from Munich: Deutsche Airlines Traveling to Aphrodite Island
Discover Airlines Expands European Network from Munich Airport
Discover Airlines has announced its summer 2026 flight schedule, which includes the addition of five new European destinations from Munich Airport. The new routes, set to commence from April and mid-May 2026, will broaden the airline's short- and medium-haul network, offering travellers a wider variety of less common European destinations.
From mid-May 2026, Skiathos in Greece and Evenes in Norway will be added to the list of destinations served from Munich. The airline will offer flights to Skiathos on Thursdays, starting May 14, 2026, while flights to Evenes will be available on Wednesdays and Saturdays from May 13, 2026.
In April 2026, Discover Airlines will also introduce direct flights to Shannon in Ireland, Larnaca in Cyprus, and Brindisi in Italy. These new destinations will operate daily from Munich Airport, with the exception of Larnaca, which will have twice-daily service on Fridays and Sundays.
The addition of these new destinations will see Discover Airlines flying to a total of twelve Greek destinations and three Scandinavian destinations from Munich in summer 2026. The first flight to Larnaca, Cyprus, from Munich will be on March 29, 2026, and the airline will operate flights to Larnaca daily, with twice-daily service on Fridays and Sundays.
To accommodate the increased demand, Discover Airlines will expand its fleet by two more aircraft, bringing the total to 18 Airbus A320s, with seven A320s based at Munich Airport. The airline will also offer two daily connections on Fridays and Sundays from Munich Airport.
In addition to these new routes, Discover Airlines will also offer year-round flights to Oulu, Finland, from Frankfurt starting summer 2026. Skiathos, located in the northwest of the Aegean, has already served as a filming location for the famous film "Mamma Mia" with Pierce Brosnan. Evenes, located in the north of Norway, is known as the gateway to the Lofoten - an archipelago with over 80 islands. In the summer, it remains light there for 24 hours due to the midnight sun.
Overall, Discover Airlines will offer over 40 short and medium-haul destinations from Frankfurt and Munich this summer. The airline's focus in its summer 2026 schedule will be on European destinations, with the route to Larnaca, Cyprus, being operated twice daily on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from Frankfurt as well.
As Easyjet has announced new destinations from Munich for the winter, it seems that competition in the Munich market is set to heat up, offering travellers even more choices for their European getaways.
Travelers looking forward to a unique European getaway can now choose from a broader variety of destinations, as Discover Airlines adds Skiathos in Greece and Evenes in Norway to its network from Munich Airport, starting from mid-May 2026. These new routes, along with Shannon in Ireland, Larnaca in Cyprus, and Brindisi in Italy, will enhance the airline's lifestyle offerings, catering to the growing demand for less common travel destinations.
