Fast Food Giants Expand Across Germany and Beyond
Several popular fast food chains have been expanding their reach across Germany and beyond. WonderWaffel has recently entered the Swiss and American markets, while Wen Cheng Noodle has opened in Hamburg and Düsseldorf, with plans for nationwide expansion through licensing.
Berlin's large appetite for quality fast food has facilitated the growth of multiple locations and franchise businesses. Brammibal's, a vegan donut bakery, has been serving customers in Hamburg since 2022. Meanwhile, Risa Chicken, founded in 2004, has expanded to Leipzig, and Burgermeister, which started in a former toilet house in Kreuzberg, now boasts 21 branches nationwide and plans international expansion.
Mmaah, known for Korean fast food, has been in Munich since 2022 and is also looking to expand further. Wen Cheng Noodle, after gaining popularity in Berlin, has opened in Hamburg and Düsseldorf, and is now seeking licensees for nationwide branches. Goldies, initially a fries shop, has been expanding to several west German cities since 2024.
These expanding food chains are not only satisfying local appetites but also creating opportunities for entrepreneurs through licensing. With WonderWaffel's international expansion and the nationwide growth of Wen Cheng Noodle, the fast food scene is set to become even more diverse and exciting.
