Ingolstadt, a city rich in historical and cultural attractions, recently hosted a Top-Level Dialogue on Tourism, bringing together approximately 25 participants from various sectors of the local tourism industry. The discussion, led by Mayor Dr. Michael Kern, focused on the development of tourism in the city, which has an untapped potential that remains underdeveloped.

The unique themes in Ingolstadt, such as the purity law, Illuminati, Frankenstein, university history, and state fortress, were highlighted as potential tourist attractions. These themes offer a genuine unique selling point that could draw visitors from around the world.

Mayor Kern emphasized the need for better promotion of Ingolstadt's tourism potential and the importance of strong partnerships to achieve this. He invited representatives from the hotel and catering industry, IHK, Audi, Ingolstadt Village, and IN-City, as well as municipal authorities, to collaborate on the development of local tourism.

The discussion concluded with agreement on the need for a joint initiative, the bundling of resources, and closer cooperation among the individual actors in the local tourism industry. Informal working groups will be formed on various topics to develop concrete measures for the development of local tourism in Ingolstadt.

The results of these working groups will be discussed in another top-level dialogue to be held in six months. Mayor Kern thanked the experts for their constructive exchange, interesting perspectives, assessments, and creative input during the discussion.

Some initiatives that could be inferred from the dialogue include enhancing cultural and historical sites, promoting automotive heritage, developing sustainable tourism, and organising events to draw visitors and create memorable experiences. However, for specific initiatives from the dialogue, more detailed information would be needed from the dialogue itself or related reports.

In conclusion, the Top-Level Dialogue on Tourism in Ingolstadt marked a significant step towards unlocking the city's hidden tourism potential. With the right strategies and collaborations, Ingolstadt is poised to become a top destination for tourists seeking unique and authentic experiences.
