Dubai International Airport Braces for 2.5M Passengers in Busy February
Dubai International Airport (DXB) braces for a surge in passenger traffic between February 20th and 28th, 2023, driven by major global events and holidays in its key markets. The airport expects to serve over 2.5 million passengers during this period.
The influx is primarily due to the Chinese New Year celebrations in China, Carnival and other festivities in Brazil and Latin America, and the February half-term school holidays in the UK and parts of Europe. These events prompt significant travel surges, making this one of DXB's busiest periods in Dubai.
Airport authorities advise passengers to use the Dubai Metro for access and navigation between terminals to avoid traffic congestion. Notably, the Arrivals bus stop at Terminal 1 will be out of service starting February 21st. Passengers are urged to check the Roads and Transport Authority's (RTA) website for alternative transport options.
DXB anticipates an average of 280,000 daily passengers, with a peak of over 295,000 expected on February 22nd.
