Dubai International Airport Appoints Advisors to Enhance Accessibility
Dubai International Airport (DXB) has taken a significant step towards becoming one of the world's most inclusive airports. The move aligns with Dubai's broader goal of becoming a disability-friendly city and has received support from Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Airports.
The initiative involves appointing three strategic advisors: Paralympian Jessica Smith, disability rights expert Fatma Al Jassim, and Team AngelWolf, a Dubai-based family foundation known for its inclusive teamwork. They will help identify accessibility gaps at DXB and co-develop solutions reflecting the real experiences of People of Determination.
DXB has already made strides in this area, with over 53,000 employees receiving training on hidden disabilities. The airport has also earned Certified Autism Center™ status from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).
Fatma Al Jassim, a leading Emirati advocate for disability rights, will play a crucial role in this initiative. With the help of these strategic advisors, DXB aims to enhance its accessibility and provide a seamless travel experience for all passengers.
