**Delta Air Lines Announces Daily Nonstop Service Between Los Angeles and Hong Kong**

Delta Air Lines has announced its plans to resume daily nonstop flights between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) starting on June 6, 2026. The service, which will be operated using the Airbus A350-900 aircraft, marks Delta's return to Hong Kong after an eight-year absence.

The ultra-long-haul route will feature a four-class configuration, offering 40 Delta One Suites (business class), 40 Premium Select seats (premium economy), 36 Comfort+ seats (extra legroom economy), and 159 standard Economy seats. For travellers outside Los Angeles, Delta will offer 30 one-stop connection options from across North America, leveraging its LAX hub.

Delta will compete with United Airlines and Cathay Pacific, both of which already serve the LAX-HKG route. The airline previously exited Hong Kong in 2018 but is now targeting the LAX-HKG route as part of a broader transpacific expansion.

The Airbus A350-900, Delta’s flagship for long-haul routes, offers a modern, fuel-efficient platform for the 7,260-mile journey. Passengers can enjoy a wide selection of in-flight entertainment options, with complimentary access to 1,000+ hours of content on Delta Studio. Delta Premium Select provides wider seats with deeper recline and enhanced amenities.

Delta operates as the largest global carrier in Los Angeles, with over 160 peak-day departures to over 50 destinations. Delta One check-in offers a dedicated, concierge-style service from curb to gate for Delta One customers on the HKG-LAX route. Delta One suite offers lie-flat seating with a sliding door, premium bedding, and a seasonal chef-curated four-course meal.

The transformation at LAX by Delta includes the Delta Sky Way and the modern Terminal 3, a 1.2-million-square-foot, 27-gate complex. Delta One suite customers on the HKG-LAX route receive exclusive access to the new Delta One Lounge at LAX. The new Delta One Lounge offers nearly 200 seats, a rotating chef-curated menu, year-round sushi bar, wellness room with full-body massage chairs, and a design aesthetic inspired by the natural and architectural beauty of Southern California.

Delta is an inaugural Founding Partner of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Official Airline of Team USA. The new service from Hong Kong to Los Angeles provides direct access to Los Angeles, a popular U.S. travel destination, and strengthens Delta's role in shaping the city's global presence. More operational details, including exact flight times and booking options, are expected closer to the launch date.

  1. Delta's return to Hong Kong aims to enhance its partnership in the aviation industry, offering daily nonstop service to the LAX-HKG route, thereby competing with industry rivals United Airlines and Cathay Pacific.
  2. The One-Stop connection options from across North America, in combination with Delta's extensive LAX hub, will cater to an extensive range of travelers, impacting the lifestyle and finance sectors by making long-haul travel more accessible.
  3. Delta's strategic transpacific expansion extends beyond the LAX-HKG route, with the Airbus A350-900, a fuel-efficient platform, playing a crucial role in setting the standard for a modern travel experience, further deepening ties between the transportation industry and the greater industry landscape.
