Aragon Pushes for RDL 7/2025 to Boost Renewable Energy and Business Competitiveness

Aragon is pushing for the approval of Royal Decree-Law (RDL) 7/2025, a move that could significantly boost its renewable energy sector and business competitiveness. The RDL, set to be voted on in the Congress of Deputies on July 22, has garnered support from major business associations and political parties aligned with renewable energy and economic development policies.

The RDL promises several benefits for Aragon. It enhances electricity supply security, attracts investors, and fosters business competitiveness. Moreover, it opens doors for storage and self-consumption development, presenting opportunities for rural areas and young people.

CEOE Aragón, Clenar, and UNEF have urged political parties to vote 'Yes' on the RDL, highlighting its potential to reduce energy costs for key sectors of the Aragonese economy. They stress that non-approval could lead to energy dependence and vulnerability to geopolitical uncertainty.

The RDL also aims to strengthen Aragon's position as a national leader in renewable generation and industrial competitiveness. It aligns with Aragon's strategy to become a major renewable hub in Europe, promoting energy sovereignty and electrification.

Aragon's political parties are encouraged to support the RDL 7/2025, with PSOE, Unidas Podemos, and regional parties backing Aragon's renewable energy agenda expected to vote in favor. Approval of the RDL would consolidate Aragon's energy leadership, improve the financial environment for projects, and reinforce its commitment to renewable energy and business development.
