Anticipate a 28-week delay for the sequel to the 28 Years Later film series

The film was successful, and in 2007, we received a sequel called 28 Weeks Later. The franchise went dormant for a while until Garland came up with a new concept. That film, 28 Years Later, is due for release on June 20, 2025, and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, and Ralph Fiennes. The trailer was recently unveiled and generated significant interest, leading to the digital re-release of the original.
28 Years Later was intended as the initial installment in a zombie trilogy. Consequently, Sony promptly hired Nia DaCosta (known for Candyman and The Marvels) to direct the sequel.
