Akhmolinsk Region Transforms Tourism Landscape for Year-Round Quality Recreation

The Akhmolinsk region is transforming its tourism landscape, focusing on high-quality recreation and year-round activities. Lake Zhukai is being developed for ecotourism and glamping, while Shchuchinsk plans winter sports like skiing and biathlon events. Burabay National Park has opened eight observation platforms to attract visitors to its scenic spots.

The region is investing in modern infrastructure. New roads, toilets, water supply, and electricity are being installed to support tourism growth. Eight luxury hotel complexes are planned, offering state-of-the-art facilities, conference centers, and recreational amenities to draw both domestic and international visitors.

To ease pressure on Burabay, alternative resorts are being developed. Qatarkol is being connected to sewage and water supply systems, while Akbur is planned as a hub for health, beach, and entertainment tourism. A modern congress hall is also planned in Shchuchinsk to host international events and relieve Astana.

The Akhmolinsk region is moving away from a focus on visitor numbers towards quality infrastructure and year-round recreation. Future plans include constructing modern hotel complexes, opening hiking and skiing trails, and launching health programs. These developments aim to make the region a top destination for both domestic and international tourists throughout the year.
