Liv Schreiber, a 28-year-old entrepreneur, has created a unique and innovative solution to the "adult friendship gap" with the launch of Camp Social, a summer camp for women aged 21 and over. The idea for the camp was born in May 2023, and it has since become a popular destination, with the upcoming camp selling out in just 24 hours.

Schreiber, who also founded Hot and Social in 2022 and Brand Caffeine, a digital marketing agency, in 2019, believes that Camp Social is an essential platform for fostering authentic community and building new friendships. The camp operates on the principle that everyone arrives alone and leaves as friends, offering curated activities and community-building experiences that encourage genuine connection offline.

Schreiber aims to make Camp Social feel like an "influencer brand trip for the consumer," featuring only products and sponsors she truly believes in, such as Dunkin', Dig Inn, and nonalcoholic wine brand Fre. The focus is on consumers directly experiencing and valuing these brands within a trusted community setting.

The first Camp Social took place in August 2023 with 150 women in attendance. Inter-generational friendships are common at the camp, with the oldest camper to date being 65 years old. The cost of a ticket covers expenses, including transportation, instructor-led activities, and branded goodie bags.

Schreiber expresses mixed feelings about the term "community" being a buzzword for brands, but she believes that fostering relationships is the core mission beyond just offering branded products or experiences. In-person connection remains Schreiber's primary goal due to the loneliness epidemic in America.

Her social media videos about the "why" behind Camp Social and real-life connections perform well, demonstrating the need for such a platform and the impact it has on its attendees. Several friends Schreiber met at Camp Social attended her recent wedding, further highlighting the strong bonds formed at the camp.

Camp Social's success is a testament to Schreiber's vision and commitment to creating a space where adults can disconnect from technology, engage in traditional camp activities, and build meaningful friendships in an environment modeled after childhood sleepaway camp experiences.
