12 Innovative DBU-Backed Projects Kick Off Across Germany for Sustainable Living
Twelve innovative projects, backed by the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU), have kicked off across Germany. These projects aim to inspire sustainable living and business practices, with a total funding of €2.9 million.
The projects span various themes, including traffic planning, water management, roof greening, and energy transition. They involve diverse participants, such as research institutions like the University of Freiburg and the University of Hohenheim, as well as regional partners focusing on environmental, agricultural, and biodiversity issues.
In Cologne, a project explores mobility transitions, led by nearly two dozen 'change agents'. Meanwhile, in Leipzig, citizens are involved in evaluating green roofs' resilience to extreme weather. In the Oldenburg region, students aged 12 to 17 are engaged in sustainable water supply and technical water management. These projects serve as blueprints, fostering environmental awareness and encouraging more sustainability.
The DBU initiative seeks to develop, implement, and share knowledge on sustainable change ideas. With twelve projects underway, it aims to inspire a more sustainable way of life and business, promoting changes in thinking and action towards a greener future.
